Candidate Process

Advancing or making a change in your career can be a scary process. With us, we make it easy.

Our process is personal. First, we get to know you, why you're looking to change positions, your long-term goals, and your best-case scenario. 

Then we present opportunities aligned with your vision and work with you before, during, and after the process to ensure your expectations are satisfied.

Founded by a former public accountant and CPA, at BGC we intimately understand the rigors of accounting and finance. With us, we never force a role on you. It's important to us that you're placed in the right situation for your happiness and success. 

Simply put, we will be with you every step of the way to make sure your needs are satisfied. 

Read below to learn step-by-step how the process works.

  • The process starts with your profile.

    Together, we spend about thirty minutes to an hour going over everything that pertains to your search:

    Why you are looking, what you are looking for, what type of roles you will be interested in, what locations you will be interested in, what kind of compensation you will be targeting, and your top three search criteria. We will cover all these questions and more.

    This in-depth process will allow us to identify any positions that are precisely aligned with what you are looking for.

  • After building out your specific search profile to help us identify your ideal situation, we will present current opportunities that align with your goals. Should you want more information, we will provide the details.

    We will only send your resume to a prospective employer if you want to pursue the role. You don't need to worry about applying online; we will tackle all this for you.

  • Should you be asked to interview, we will be there to help you prepare accordingly. In a short five to ten-minute conversation, we will cover best practices, what the client is looking for, and how you can uniquely satisfy their needs. Simply put, we set you up for success.

  • Immediately after each interview, we will spend five to ten minutes going over the interview, what your thoughts are, what your concerns are, and ultimately decide if it makes sense to continue in the interview process or not.

    Please know that we have the same call with the client to ensure both parties are aligned. If you have any concerns or questions, this is another opportunity to get some clarity.

  • Congrats, you got the offer. Once again, we will check to ensure you feel confident in the position and that the company meets your expectations.

    We also strive to make sure your financial and nonfinancial expectations are met to ensure you're in the right situation aligned with your goals.

  • Your happiness is important to us. We will check in with you after the first week, month, and three months to ensure things are going smoothly.
